HANDSOME HUNK ALERT! Chief is a one-year-old sweetheart who’s been through more than any dog should. When he first came to us, he carried the physical and emotional scars of abuse, including an old break in his ankle that healed without veterinary care. But despite his past, Chief’s heart is full of love.

This big, goofy boy just wants to please. He loves his walks, thrives on human affection, and has a playful, loyal nature. Because of his size and energy, Chief would do best in a home with a fenced yard and older kids who understand his strength (he doesn’t realize how big he is!).

With proper introductions, he could live with another dog, but he’d prefer a home without cats. He thinks they’re fun to chase, even if he means no harm and doesn’t hurt them.
