The Humboldt and District SPCA launches capital campaign to meet transition costs
The Humboldt Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of animals in Humboldt and surrounding areas. Beginning operations in 2007, our mission is to provide care and refuge for homeless and abused animals, to promote the humane treatment of animals, and to educate the community about responsible pet ownership.
We operate an animal shelter that provides a safe and loving environment for dogs, cats, and other small animals in need. Our staff and volunteers work tirelessly to provide medical care, behaviour rehabilitation, and temporary housing to animals until they can be placed in loving homes.
We rely on the support of our community to continue our work. Whether through donations, volunteering, or participating in our events, there are many ways to get involved and make a positive impact on the lives of animals in need.
At the Humboldt SPCA, we believe that every animal deserves a second chance. Join us in our mission to create a brighter future for animals in our community.

Real stories from people who have worked with, volunteered for, or adopted from the Humboldt & District SPCA
"Doing great things for sweet animals - keep it up!"
"Volunteer here often and absolutely love the vibe of everyone there. Take kiddo for walking the dogs in the evening around 7pm they are very appreciative of the help."
"For anyone looking for a new addition to your family, this is the place to check out. Friendly and helpful staff"
"We had a wonderful experience adopting from the Humboldt SPCA. The animals are very lucky to have people like Wanda and the rest of the staff looking after them and also looking out for the animal’s best interest. Shelters have many expenses in operating and it is interesting to see the people complaining about the cost of adoption. The SPCA has to charge a fee to recoup some of this money to continue operating and helping future animals. The adoption fees are a great deal when you consider that the animals are vaccinated and vetted. Many pets on Kijiji for a lower price will not be!"
"I need to win the lottery, and buy a farm and take them ALL home. Also, if you're in the Humboldt area and have some free time to spend with some wonderful animals, the SPCA could always use dog walkers!"
